Christmas Lights & Ornaments

So here it is, inspired by Miss MJ's challenge to take some night shots of all the Christmas lights....our Home. Nope, nothing too fancy, but I love it just the same! it's hard to see, but the little wreath above the garage, the snowglobe and of course my rope lights hehe. It's nice to drive up at night and see your house all light up! In fact even tonight as I ventured out in the 30 Degree cold in my jammies and Robe, the boys headed out there with me! We stood out there for a few minutes..taking it all in...Wil shaking the fence I was trying to steady myself on...lol Danny giving me instructions on where to take the next picture. I love everything about Christmas!!

And next...the Tree, Oh Christmas Tree oh Christmas Tree....I cleared out most of the presents and packed them all away ready to go to their respective receivers house. We've spent many a Decembers evening laying on the couch...Danny watching the TV...Wil and I watching the tree..lol

And last but certainly not least!! Some of my favorite ornaments!! Christmas is such a special time of the year for us...6 years ago we were married (12-22-01) Every year since then I've gotten Danny an ornament for our tree, and everywhere we go on vacation I make it a special point to get an ornament for our tree. Here are a few of my favs!

Say What!?!

Yeah, I admit it...I love being the one who's always Politically Incorrect...you can always count on me to spout off about Spanish being on my Shampoo bottle or having to press 1 for English. Oh you name it...I likely bitch about it! I completed the LO for Scrapdragons Are you Guilty Challenge! Check it out and enter too!!

A month?

Has it really been a month?! OMG well here I am. Surprise..lol I've been busy busy yanno, the holidays. I have most of my Christmas Shopping done and wrapped most everything already too!

Last night was the first night of Hanukkah, Wil called his Grandpa and asked about it...why we celebrate etc. Yesterday when I picked him up from school I told him we were lighting the candles and stuff and he asked...do I get a present?! And I said...sure if you can tell me why we celebrate. Sure enough, he couldn't. You know, I do this for him so he can learn his heritage...learn where he came from and make his own decision when the time comes. If he's learning nothing but..."I get a present" then it's not worth it.

He searched and he searched for his books and couldn't find them so he finally broke down and called Papa to ask. After a satisfactory explaination of it he said the prayer...lit the candles...and opened his present. (A beanie with a bill on it) In the nights to come he will get a craft menorah...make your own dreidel...stuff like that. We've got the chocolate coins all ready for the dreidel game and no...I'm so not making matzo ball soup..lol

Scrapdragons and 7/10 UIU

Yay I finished a LO tonight! I was inspired by Scrap Dragons pick 2 challenge that's currently up over there at http://thescrapdragons.blogspot.com/ When I saw the Whipped cream in the fridge I immediately thought of my Nephew Jack! He was over for My/Wil's birthday last month. He begged and begged for another cupcake, when his Mom and Dad finally gave in he attacked the cupcake like a starving man on death row. He went right for the frosting and when he was done with it he looked at me and said "It's empty" as if I was going to 'refill' it lol naturally I ran for my camera before wiping the little bugger up. I'll try for better pictures tomorrow.

The Pumpkin Patch

This layout has been haunting me all week, I started it but just couldn't seem to finish. I think it's the...oh another pumpkin patch LO thing. Anyway, I did finish it and this is 6/10 of my UIU layouts! Awesome eh?! I'm going to TRY to scrap a little bit more tonight, I need it.

Iron, Wood, And Sugar...

Traditional 6th wedding anniversary presents have a theme of Iron and Sugar.A contemporary or modern 6th anniversary present has a theme of Wood. The flowers associated with the 6th anniversary are Calla lilies
The Gemstone list shows Amethyst and Garnet associated with this Wedding Anniversary.

Ok so, I've got a month and a half to go, but I'm really trying hard to come up with something clever and nice for the hubster. Last year he came through with a beautiful new diamond ring that I (now) adore.

I'm currently listening to and am completely and utterly addicted to Bon Jovi's Version of Haleluijah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANwTNFWvOF8 I just can't stop! Is it a love song? Is it a religous song? I'm not sure, but it's addictive and I can't help but be in love with it.

I can't believe it's been 6 years...it seems so long in the sense that I can't recall so much anymore the time spent without him. On the other hand, where did the time go? Six years ago I was preparing for our wedding, shopping for apartments, freaking out about being a Mother to a 4 year old (not to mention a wife!). It's been a long road, we've had our trials and tribulations, but I can't be more thankful of my family; My husband, and my son. Will we have more children? Can I have children? I'm not sure...we will just have to wait and see what comes our way! Until then, I'm content with what I've got.

Scrapjacked

Well yeah, I know I said I wasn't feelin it..lol Once I got scrappin it just came to me! Apparently it's a great Jack because it kept with me and I started getting ideas and well here's the result! Scanner is being issues right now and won't work so this will have to do! I'll try again tomorrow night.
I took these pictures of Michelle on her Birthday...it was late in the evening, she was wearing her new dress, new shoes, new necklace, etc. etc. etc. There she was...sitting on this huge blow up horse looking like a little spoiled birthday princess and then she started yelling at her sister to get away from her new toys. Oh so sweet were the days when we were young and spoiled...sure we can spoil ourselves now, but we have to pay our own credit card..lol

OMG another LO for today!!

Be shocked! It's true I did another LO today!! To top it off...OMG **gasp** it's a 2 pager! It's a little crazy...a little out of my usual but I'm really liking it. Look you can see my frog slippers in the picture..lol I used the Basic Grey Bowling paper I bought a year ago, and the girls said I would never use it! {Hey can you guys start telling me I won't use something else? hehehe}
Some Vinyl thickers courtesy of Kristi, Prima Cork Flowers that I've been ick about for months! Some button embellies from Elsie's Jack & Abby Line and just some Misc brads and whatnot. Will there be another?

Some upclose shots...

A 2 for 1! OLW and Unpubbed

Gotta love Daylight Savings time, I wake up at 7:30 Every monring...rain or shine...weekend or weekday. I wish I could help it but I can't! So this morning I woke up and look at my clock (Which has changed itself mind you!) and I see it's 6:13 ICK! Go back to sleep!! So I roll around in the bed for awhile trying to go back to sleep with no luck. 6:39 I decide to give up and just wake up! I check email, myspace, any blog comments?? Then I think ok ok I'll scrap...lemme see what challenges are out there! I stop by my usual haunts, not feeling the ScrapDragons challenge....SO not feeling the Mojo Challenge...scrapjacked LO isn't quite "me"...and then I get to http://unpubbed.blogspot.com/ Oooh I'm inspired...I throw some pictures and paper together, and since my scraproom is a disaster zone at the moment I take it out to the Family room!

The pictures are laid out...I'm pretty satisfied so far but ack what can I make the title?! I decide to take a break and make some blueberry muffins while I think...mmmm muffins. Yeah I've got nothing! It was a silly nothing of a picture really...I just thought the kids looked cute leaving the pizza place..Rachel with her giant boquet of balloons.

Ok I give up, maybe Kristi is awake by now...nope! So I check out some more challenge blogs when I see the newest OLW Challenge http://onelittleword.tyepad.com/ Delight. OMG perfect!! So here ya have it...a 2 for 1-er. Perhaps if I have time I'll create another LO for both (lol) Happy Daylight Savings time!

Cupcakes Galore!

So here it is...the night before halloween. I've spent my evening baking cupcakes, decorating cupcakes, eating pizza from Papa Johns YUM! and watching The Great Pumpkin. What is it about Charlie Brown that says holidays to me?! Danny sat like a lump on a log...but Wil and I had a BLAST!

Some yummies for toppings..

A lot of "hard" work...

A TON of cupcakes...

All make for one very goofy and extremely happy boy!

Oh so much to share!

So it's been 10 days since my last post...yeah get over it..lol Look how long it took me to start blogging period!

Here we are at the pumpkin patch. It was soo smokey from all the So Cal fires so we had to make it quick!! I decided I didn't want to crave a pumpkin again this year since I always end up having to cut almost all if not all of Wil's lol and then Danny didn't want one if I wasn't getting one. Oh boys are so silly! I put these tiny pumpkins on Dannys arm on the way to the next destination and decided I really liked how cute they looked.

Next stop, was the bowling alley! Wil cried and cried because he didn't want to have bumpers on his lane. Then he proceeded to say they messed him up when the ball bounced all over the place. Apparently we need to take him bowling more often huh? lol The kids had fun. Here are some pictures of Nana & Savannah playing, Danny attempting to teach Wil to bowl (Oh scrappers...I'm finally going to use that BG Bowling paper ya'll said I would NEVER use..lol)

Last but not least we went to Johns Incredible Pizza where everyone goofed off as usual!

My Favorite Picture of the day...

That's it for now, maybe more to follow next week!!

Frustrated...

Why is everything a fight with a 10 YO Boy?! Grrrr...don't get me wrong I absolutely adore the little booger, but my patience is being tested today for sure. Some things I've learned being a mother....in no particular order

1. It's the best experience in the world!
2. It's also the worst experience in the world..lol
3. When you say something, mean it or it will come back to bite you in the butt!
4. Know that it's ok to not like your child at certain moments, but always LOVE them.
5. Always carry spare Jackets and clothing in your trunk.
6. Don't be afraid to say no.
7. You will be loved by your child more than anyone else.
8. You will be hated by your child more than anyone else.
9. It's hard, and it's always your fault (even when it isn't).
10. Obviously, your Mother was right about daymn near everything. Now that you're a Mother you have to be right too!
11. Even if you take the kid to the bathroom before the movie starts, you'll have to go at least one more time during the movie.
12. Stay strong, don't let your family influence the way you do things with your child.
13. Learn to watch lame shows like Spongebob, and sing the silly songs.
14. Become Ninja like, if you make too many noises the kid will wake up as soon as you do!
15. Be tough...it's ok...they will be better for it..lol

Unpubbed Lift Challenge

I took this picture last night at my Neices 4th Birthday party. She loved her Hannah Montana guitar that we got her, but Wil loved it even more!! He kept trying to take a turn at it and was just obsessed with the whole thing..lol I tried and tried for pictures and then finally I was able to sneak this one!! What can I say...my son's a nerd..lol

Anyway, this was a lift from http://unpubbed.blogspot.com and I thought of it immediately this morning when I was getting ready to scrap. I've flipped the sketch a bit but really love the outcome! it's been awhile since I've had this much fun on a LO. Thanks for the inspiration girls!

One Little Word

Here's my take on the One Little Word Challenge. I had fun with it, whipped it out SUPER quick because I only had an hour eek! Used KI Memories Driven Line along with a lil help from Lil Davis ribbon and stickers.

I love this picture of Wil, swinging away...haven't found the right opportunity to use it until I saw the challenge today and instantly it came to mind! Thanks to http://onelittleword.typepad.com/ for the inspiration and Cathy for Introducing me to them.
